The About Us page has been updated with a new picture, hopefully less blurry, and some links… nothing exciting, though. The Alliance Vehicles page has been updated with a small bit of new information. The Our Pets page has been updated with a bunch more pictures, in hopes of making this a legitimate blog! Finally, the couple of links I had in the sidebar have been removed. A Links page has been added, which is currently blank, but will be updated with links soon. The idea is to make this page my own Internet portal, with easy access to all of my own favorite pages and forums, which hopefully will also invigorate the update process for readers.

What a crazy damned month. The most recent development is that I crashed the Ninja again on Saturday. I’m relatively okay, but very sore, and I also got some road rash on my palm, due to one of my gloves failing. Typing this is hurting quite a bit. Forming sentences is also hurting a bit, so forgive me if this is a bit stilted. Positive news is that I’m going to stop being such a damned pussy (meaning both pain endurance and also willpower), whatever that means. Let’s take it slowly, but surely. Roar!

Well, one of the cory cats is about to die. He’s been really listless lately, his skin’s been getting really dark, and we noticed that his fins were getting a bit ragged… apparently he was letting the other fish nibble at them without complaining. Just now, I found him being sucked against the tank filter, not moving, and I thought he was gone. But when I tried to net him out of the tank for his funeral, he came back to life and started zooming around the tank like a spastic chimpanzee… but in more of a berserker fashion than anything else. At times, he was swimming upside-down. He finally came to rest on his side, at the bottom of the tank (after having taken a breather against the tank heater, also on his side), so I fished him out and put him in his own little bowl, covered by a glass cutting board to protect against cats, to await the end.

Tonight I made chicken breasts, asparagus, and hash browns for dinner. Not a very complex meal, and it really wasn’t very noteworthy for anything other than it being my first time cooking asparagus, but the experience was really made by the honey mustard. I was paging through the Betty Crocker Cookbook that Alice’s younger sister Bean got me for Christmas, searching for something to tie the meal together, when I found a recipe for “Asparagus with Mustard and Honey”. I looked at the instructions for the sauce (equal proportions of Dijon mustard, honey, and olive oil), and had a sneaking suspicion that I was looking at how to make honey mustard, like you buy in jars at the supermarket or order on sandwiches at diners. So I whipped some up with dinner, tasted it, and bam! Success. To think, all these years, and it never occurred to me that honey mustard might just be mustard with some honey in it….
I’ve been a bad blogger lately, not posting. It’s been an interesting couple of weeks, what with my motorcycle accident, dinner with family friends, a couple of gaming nights with the old crew, learning of the death of a friend, riding Rosette again after five months…. There’s been word-fodder galore in there, and it’ll come over the next few days. Consider this part of my rehabilitation!
